Emma Jewel Patterson, age 80, a resident of Varnado, LA, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 29, 2012. She passed away at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, LA. She was a member of Varnado Missionary Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dan Patterson; her parents, James Leonard and Lela Dean Holmes Leonard; ten brothers and sisters.

She is survived by four daughters, Julie (James) Miller of Varnado, LA, Mary Patterson of Varnado, LA, Dana (Philip) Peak of Columbia, MS, and Tracy (Donny) Johnston of Hattiesburg, MS; one son, Danny (Becky) Patterson of Slidell, LA; one sister, Paula Harvey of Hammond, LA; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Friday, March 30, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M.

Visitation will continue at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 1:00 P.M. with the Rev. Nelson Bracey to officiate and Interment to follow at Pounds Cemetery.
