Joseph R. Lyons, Sr., a resident of Bogalusa, LA, age 55, born on February 8, 1957 in Bogalusa, LA, passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 in Baton Rouge, LA.
He is survived by his former wife, Myra Leger; two sons, Joseph Lyons and Andrew Lyons; a step-daughter, Abbie Baronet; numerous nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Scott) Pope, Laura Lyons, Robert E. Lyons, Jr. and Scott (Michele) Lyons; numerous great-nieces and nephews, Madison Pope, Seth Pope, Ian Lyons, Libby Lyons and Damon Lyons; a sister-in-law, Patti Lyons.
He is preceded in death by his parents, M. L. "Puggie" Lyons, Sr. and Betty Blackwell Lyons; two brothers, Robert Earl (Kathy) Lyons and Melvin Louis Lyons, Jr.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M.
Visitation will continue on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel from 9:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Clay Norwood and Rev. Jason Miller will officiate with Interment to follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
